... then the temperature would be like in Canarian summer because the archipelago climate is closer to african climate than european one.
The picture above was taken some meters besides Jardin Botanico that was created in order to acclimatize
species from the new land (America). Some species could survive in Canary Island but surely didn't survive in european winter.
Even for people who definitively doesn't matter about botanic subjects there are shadows...lots of them :-)

Weekend in Canary Islands
I went to Tenerife's west neighbour island whose capital is San Sebastian from where Colombo stopped for replacement before going to the new world.
The language of the Gomera Silbo (Whistle) is by far another of the unique expressions of La Gomera. Rising originally aborigine times, it was used to communicate between one deep canyon and another. Anyway if I heard it I woudn't recognize it :-)
For people who enjoys walking there is Parque Nacional de Garajonay where there are lots of trails or senderos to walk through
On the way back I stopped at Playa de las Americas which is another beach with dark sands ... and rocks. It could be called beach on the rocks :-)

At Rome dress yourself like romans :-)
Therefore after lunching I took a siesta and when I got up there was time to run at Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia :-)

Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Surely, it's the most populated city in Tenerife then if you miss big city ... ok... ok... I'll change it by city only :-) you may stroll in its streets by starting from ... of course ... Plaza de España
And take a look at Santiago Calatrava building Auditorio Tenerife
Finally, if you guess I'm only footing you are completely wrong because I found today, during my cultural class that my hometown was founded by a canarian citizen :-)

Puerto de la Cruz
It's a Tenerife city whose main economic activity is tourism but is where the school is located therefore ... :-)
By walking the streets or calles in spanish :-)
you'll reach Playa Jardin whose sand is dark.
Finally, after spending lots of energy it's possible to recover a little of it with a glass of canary wine.... cheers!!!

El Teide
My beginning in Canary Islands started on a weekend so hardy :-) then I went to El Teide which is the Spain highest point and you should bring hat and suncream to protect yourself without forgetting water :-)
To reach the summit there is a cable car but a walk up should be done and the park is closed at 5 p.m.
It's possible to sleep here and get up in the next morning to watch another islands because there aren't many clouds at the beginning of the day.

The streets of central Madrid
The madrileños engineers don't know what parallelism means therefore it's easy to be lost during a free walk in the central Madrid.
Anyway if you are lucky you would pass in front of San Ginés chocolateria meanwhile you'll remember the same music all the time because eleven of ten spanishs smoke :-(
Finally, I understand that you are not in Madrid therefore on behalf of you I tasted some :-)

A madrileño day
It's vacation time so there aren't crowds of people on the streets in Madrid therefore you can walk easily in this big city... for a while. Below is Plaza di Castilla nearby I live in the first two weeks.
The next is located in central Madrid is Plaza de la Villa

El Escorial and neighbourhood festivals
Instead of reading my writting it's better reading from the source :-)
I'll only say that you'll reach it by taking a train in Atocha or Chamartin station. There is also a bus but I beg your pardon because I don't know what is :-(
There are also some festival in honour to some saints for example in La Latina is to Virgen de la Paloma

Real Madrid
For people who enjoys football, a visit to Real Madrid is worthwhile
It is known as the 20th century's best football club probably due to its 3 Intercontinental Cup.
If it is true there is another one which is too :-)
If time permits a stroll around Puerta Del Sol is a good idea where there is a statue of bear.
But some cautions should be taken because there are many pickpockets around and a 360 degrees vision is a must.
Anyway instead of being a little dangerous area, you should not lose the opportunity to pass by places that Alexandre will never get in :-)

Day by day
After studying hardly all the morning, some supplies are necessary and they can be got at Cerveceria 100 Montaditos where the attendance should be better but its hundred types of mondadito are worthwhile without forgetting the beer :-)
It is located in front of Plaza Mayor which remains the same after 10 years and probably more
Close to them is the Palacio Real where is forbidden to take pictures inside so this the only one. If you want to see more do it by yourself
I recommend to taste Gazpacho by the time of the year because it is too hot in Madrid now.
Finally I took a siesta at garden beside Palacio Real because there are lots of homework to do :-(

The heavy route :-)
It's drawn in the map below. The starting point is Madrid where I hope to learn how to say I'm hungry in spanish to survive the rest of the path :-). From there toward Canary Islands and hike its volcanic region.
Then improve my knowledge about muslim heritage in Granada and toward Valencia which is close Balearic Islands... at least I think it is :-)
The last stop is Barcelona but without time enough to see with my own eyes if bullfighting is really banned in Catalonia.
Finnally, wish me luck :-)
