Or it could be beyond the hills :-)
Pest is located on east side of Danube river and is flat so no excuses to explore it on foot :-)
Where is located Terror House museum which was the old haunt of the dreaded secret police. Unfortunately it is closed on monday maybe because monday is a terror by itself :-)
Also there is the Jewish quarter with Great Synagogue
Atter walking.... walking.... and walking some fuel replacement is necessary. I recommend you the dry red wine of Hungary :-)
Therefore no excuses to look at Parliament closely so it's possible to enjoy the flowers that can't be seen away. I heard from one magyar that it is because politicians don't smell good :-)
And if time permits, you can enjoy the sunset at Danube river

Gellért Hill
It was a rainy day so I refused to climb up another hill by my own feet :-)
By using an elementary but polite magyar language I reached the top of it from where I've got nice views from the city.
where it is a monument erected as a tribute to the soviet soldiers who died liberating Hungary in 1945.

Let it be
This way of travelling has its price. After arriving at Keleti station in a weekday, I didn't expect to find room unavaiable until saturday :-(
At least in Pest where the topography is flat (below outside of Oktogon station) with chaotic traffic.
Therefore I spent some hours on the next day just looking for a room to sleep.
It's better stop complaining and explore Pest which is located east of Danube river and where it's the Parliament viewed from Buda :-)

Crossing borders
First of all, borders are made by humankind therefore no more review is necessary but just by remembering Fernando Pessoa's definition for human being: corpse postponed.
Cheap philosophy is all you can get without sponsorship :-)
Back to the travel :-) Now it's time of 2011 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia so crowds of people at Bratislava. No way :-)
So I kept straight to Budapest while listening to good brazilian songs during the trip.
After crossing the magyar border I remembered the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die and decided to buy one and change the title to 1001 Places to See Before You Die by including Slovakia and I hope God understands it means more living time :-)
