San José

In order to overcome the jet lag, I'll stay some days here and also it will be a good test to know if I learned spanish ... or not :-)

Surprisingly, I didn't find Plaza Mayor yet but there is Plaza Bolívar ...for sure :-)

Close there is another square whose name is Plaza de la Cultura but it could be Plaza de las Palomas :-)

Finally by speaking spanish I've got a tip about local beer and it was good but I don't know if it was good because I was thirsty or because I'm on vacation :-)

It was tasted in a soda which is a popular eating establishment and my bag on the background is a proof of the truth :-)

Rich Coast (Costa Rica)

It´s a terrible translation for a proper name but, in my native language,  it´s the meaning of this country´s name :-)
source: www.lonelyplanet.com/maps

Anyway, beyond its name Costa Rica is also a country without armed forces. Another good reason to visit it :-)
The starting and ending point is San José and the places visited will depend on my walk speed :-)

Write you later

Contrary to local clues

I  went to Icoaraci where there is a riverbank whose name is Cruzeiro ... of course :-)

There is also local handy craft shop
and a port where there are boats toward Cotijuba island but it's a subject for another post if it's possible :-)

There are also restaurants in case of hungry :-)

By speaking about culinary there is Ver-O-Peso market where you can find local culinary spice.

If you are lucky maybe there is any musical show at Teatro da Paz

In case of lack of lucky you can drink some beer while listening live music at Cervejaria Amazonas :-)

Every year at second sunday Círio de Nazaré takes place whose focal point is Basílica de Nazaré

Before leaving

It´s a good idea to get used with warmer places by enjoying carnival holiday. So I took a plane to Belém

Another good tip is to be prepared with different foods like maniçoba with cerpinha (small cerpa)

And a good place to taste one is Lá em Casa restaurant

(*t-shirt´s advice translation): Lá em Casa´s maniçoba: proving that you need not be beautiful to be tasty :-)
