It`s time to say goodbye, last post in NZ

"Feelings, nothing more than feelings"

The sentece above is extracted from a song that passed by my mind some moments before because I`m in the airport writing my last post in NZ.
There are a mess of them and all happening at the same time.
Happiness for knowing this wonderful country, its nature and friendly people.
Some sadness for leaving worldwide friendships I made here.
Proudness for learning how to use `to be` verb in both present and future tenses :-)
Frustration because there is no time enough to learn using it in past tense :-(
Thankfulness to people, in Brazil and New Zealand, who helped me in many different ways and made this journey be possible :-)
I could write a big post but if I do it I`ll miss my flight .... hmmm!!! why not ? :-)

Thanks New Zealand and I hope to be back

Auckland and its Sky Tower

If you don`t have much time to spend in Auckland you can go to Sky Tower,
look around 360 degrees and you can say that saw all Auckland :-)

becoming youthful :-)

I tried some massage in hot mineral water in order to feel younger at Lake Spa Retreat which is

located near Sulphur Bay. The temperature in the pools varies from 96 to 107 degrees ... Fahrenheit :-)

Anyway if it doesn`t work I`ll be 15 hours younger on next tuesday :-)

so just take care by keeping your head above water to avoid amoebic meningitis

If time permits, a visit to Rotorua Museum is worthwhile

Lost in translation

I remembered this movie when I was watching a maori concert yesterday in Rotorua.
Because it was funny to learn little about maori in english :-) but at the end everything was `kapai`

moving up

As an authentic student I took a school bus and left Turangi going to Taupo


This city is located at border of the biggest NZ lake and known for skydiving but I gave up because of boring weather :-)

Then I spent some time at Lake Taupo Museum where I knew about Mt Ruapehu whose last lahar occurred on 25th September 2007 and I apologize for not publishing it in time because I was too busy studying hardly with all my mind involved with grammar rules, reading, writing, spelling, listening and speaking :-)

Tongariro Crossing

This is a trek that starts or ends in a steep volcanic terrain

and it`s not necessary to worry about ice for your beers :-)

so you can enjoy them looking at Emerald lakes :-)

Back to Wellington

I`m not crazy... yet :-)
I crossed the Cook Strait for the last time ... in this journey :-)
When I put the end of my nose outside the ferry... I realized... I`m in Wellington because it was too ... too wiiiindy.... brrrrr!!!!
But after meeting friends the sky became blue and the sun started shinning :-)

I spent more than half of my NZ period in this city studying hardly :-) and as we`ve got used to see picture in this space so the last one is a school photo

Goodbye, South Island

As a matter of fact, time keeps flying so I`ve just passed by Nelson

and reached Picton for a short walk because I`m tired after kayaking, walking, cycling, drinking, eating, etc+ing :-)

Even without rainbow(1) I found a treasure at the end :-)

I could spend one month... one year... perhaps one life just in South Island :-)

(1) brazilian people believes that there is a treasure at the end of rainbow

Golden Bay

I took a bus to Takaka where I hired a bike ...

to explore... Helen Clark, take it easy !!! I said explore not exploit :-)

so to explore around and I reached Te Waikoropupu and its clear water reminds me Bonito in Brazil, which is my country and I didn`t forget it :-)

Here is not allowed any kind of contact with water.... no swimming, no fishing, no whatever kind of interaction you can imagine but there is nobody to check then it is up to you.

And last but not least when you go by cycling down just remember that you must be back by cycling up :-( so I arrived exhausted and famished therefore I drank and ate without regarding the place :-)

kayaking

I went by kayak from Marahau to Anchorage where some flying insects were waiting for me at lunch time but surprisingly I was not the guess. Instead I was starter, main and dessert altogether with salt-sea. They were hungry and I was angry because I forgot repelent :-(


And I came back by walking and listening to birds singing by a track near to golden sand beaches with green sea around :-)

all of this without missing fresh water :-)

Abel Tasman National Park

I decided to stop at Motueka because it is the closest civilised (1) village to explore Abel Tasman National Park

(1) in accordance with the worst-seller Lauro`s dictionary about cheap philosophy:
civilised = a place where there is internet avaialable

West Cost

On the way around West Coast I tasted possum pie for the first time so if there are not more news in this blog maybe I got a stomacache :-)

And finished my journey in Westport where you can drink some chemical free beer :-)

Franz Josef

I went to Franz Josef and followed the Paul`s suggestion and made a Heli-Hiking at Franz Josef Glacier from where I could get a top view of it


Also I made a full day track by walking in order to get closer it and could pass through tight aisle surrounded by blue-coloured ice walls.

Headache ?

If you`ve got a headache try some tramping in Mount Aspiring National Park.
As its name suggests it can help you feel better by listening the sound of water falling down on the rocks.

Anyway, if it doesn`t work after looking at the advice you`ll forget it :-)

Almost another mistake

At first I was not thinking about staying in Wanaka because time flies and there is not much of it available :-( But it is a pleasant place to hang out or to look at the twilight in front of the lake. It happens about 9 p.m. in this period of the year :-)

Milford Sound

If you are in New Zealand you should go to there because with my poor english it is impossible to give you a small idea about it.

You can see dolphins playing ...

... and others animals like yellow pigeon and all of them without depending on the hability of the photographer or lack of it :-)

I decided to stop at Te Anau and it was worthwhile.
First I went to Glowworm cave. It is a kind of bioluminescence worm and a good tip is keep close to the guide... she`s pretty :-) and the cave is noisy, too.
After a soft walk around the lake from where you can reach Kepler Track but I coudn`t walk it because of my short time :-)
Finally, I saw the movie Ata Whenua Shadowland at Fiordland Cinema drinking some wine because I`m not made by iron, translating a brazilian idiom :-)

The day after

If you drunk too much in the evening before, a good way to wake up is by taking a jet in Shotover River. I couldn`t bring my camera for security and, in my opinion, business reason because at the end of the trip they offer you a pack of pictures. But after using photoshop I`ll put on the blog... consider it as a vacationwork :-)


After that, go up to the gondola by taking one or by walking for broken people like me...
By the way, May you lend me some money ? $$$$ :-)

And if you are tired, you can join a cruise in the TSS Earnslaw to cross the lake

Queenstown

Surprisingly, the weather in Queenstown is warm so you can enjoy drinking some beer at the end of the day in front of Lake Wakatipu.

Anyway, it was a reward for a hardy day exploring Arrowtown,

and finding information about wines of Central Otago :-)

Vacation

I started my vacation by travelling to Queenstown and on the path you`ll pass through Lake Tekapo

Os adeptos da bicicleta, certamente, gostariam de ter a mesma facilidade encontrada em Christchurch. Ateh o momento soh ouvi uma conversa ou discussao entre motorista e ciclista. Nao sei se foi discussao ou conversa pq estou focado no verbo `to be` :-)

Frustrado...

... por nao atingir a minha meta, visto que hoje eh o meu ultimo dia de curso, fui ao Belgian Bar tentar afogar a minha frustacao numa Leffe Brune.
